If we, like Wilhelm Reich, assume that psyche and soma are not just related to each other but are "symptoms" of a living, deeper process, then we can start working either with the somatic or the psychic aspect. The essential point is to consider this deeper process: In Functional Analysis, the focus lies on understanding the psychosomatic matrix and its functions.
The workshop provides an overview of the working method and the key concepts of Functional Analysis.
Until recently, connective tissue had gone unnoticed and unrecognized in its significance as an anatomical system. Thanks to international research efforts over the past few years, it has been classified as an "organ" since 2018. Connective tissue and fascia pervade our entire body like a network. They form, envelop, and pass through our entire structure, playing a very important role in perception and the transmission of information within our entire living system. its elasticity, plasticity, and unique formations provide insights into developmental processes and a person's structure. In this context, the functional analysis offers another perspective on early disorders and trauma.
A deeper understanding of connective tissue and its function provides a new perspective on the dynamic of the psychosomatic matrix and the therapeutic process.
The workshop also introduces the concept of the "instroke," the inward movement of pulsation. Working with the inward movement of pulsation enables us to "touch" the dynamics within a structure, foster inner mindfulness and presence, and thereby develops a reflexive self-awareness. Resilience is cultivated and self-healing capacities are activated. In the further process, all of this facilitates the development of a self-to-self relationship, complementing the self-to-other relationship, which proves highly beneficial in accompanying individual developmental and healing processes.
The workshop serves as an introduction to the method and training in Functional Analysis with Lilly and Will Davis.
The workshop is for psychotherapists, body psychotherapists, and all therapists with a particular interest in psychosomatic connections.
The workshop will take place from NOVEMBER 14, 2025, AT 2:00 PM TO NOVEMBER 16, 2025, AT 5:00 PM at the Praxisgemeinschaft beim Schlump, No. 52a, 20144 Hamburg (entrance in the courtyard).
